I am really excited to share this blog with you. This session is a great example of why I wanted to get into photography… to help people see that having a photo shoot done doesn’t have to be stressful, and that the end result can give you memories to look back on forever.
When I reached out to Mom to talk to her on the phone about the session, she confided in me that they were a little nervous about the whole “family photography” experience and that they had really never done these types of photos before. (Which is something I hear often!) Knowing that, and learning from her that their family lived on several acres of land – I offered to have the photo shoot on THEIR turf… both as a way to make them feel comfortable and to make the images that much more personal for them. Not everyone likes this option – but I could tell that this meant a lot to them.
And as I pulled up to their house – I could tell why. They live in a beautiful home on a beautiful piece of land that just exudes serenity. As we started walking through the beautiful wooded acres behind their home, I immediately felt this sense of “family” about them. You could tell that they take walks like this together often … no distractions… just family time… and it was awesome to have a chance to photograph it…
And it didn’t take long to notice what a gorgeous, sweet daughter they have. I love a “kid” that can be interactive with an adult that they meet and look them in the eye – and she couldn’t have been sweeter to talk to … not to mention a complete DREAM to photograph. I was telling Mom how absolutely stunning she was, and Mom says, “Well, you know – every Mom believes their daughter is beautiful, but I think she is.” Well, I think these images show it’s true!
I have not been able to stop looking at these two images since they came into my camera. I LOVE how happy she looks in her Mom and Dads arms… and not trying to wiggle out of them like most 9-year-olds might. Indicative of the relationship these three have…
I learned that these two were set up on a blind date and married for 15 years… and Mom says, “we’re still on the honeymoon.” How AMAZING is that. Us “in-the-early-stages-of-marriage” couples need more couples like this one to look up to…
Thank you – thank you – thank you for the awesome opportunity to meet you and be invited onto your family’s turf to do this photo shoot for you. I honestly wish I could have bottled up the joy I felt from your family and taken it with me!! You guys were fantastic to work with and I certainly hope we have the chance to see each other again soon! (or at least get a picture of the completed family photo wall when it’s done!!) Until next time…

Can you give me a rough idea what a package would cost? It would be 3 adults, and 2 dogs. Great idea for Mothers Day! Our 30th anniversary is in October so maybe we could plan something in the near future when you are not so busy. I want to keep this a secret from my wife. Thank You Ron.

Ron!!! I am so sorry – for some reason I am just now seeing this. Best way to touch base is via email… I think I sent some pricing over when you originally touched base, but if not I’m happy to send again. Not sure if you share this email address though?
