This session was a long time in the making!  We’re talking… Mom and I started emailing about their August photo shoot back in the winter – touching base with each other every so often in between – and it made me feel like I knew her before I even met her. There’s nothing cooler or more humbling for a photographer than going into a session where you know that the family has been looking forward to a session with you for so long.

While the weather threatened us a little bit – it turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL August day during this family’s week-long “stay-cation” (<– I need to do more of this).  Three awesome kids with three hilarious personalities – and usually trying to corral this many kids for photographs is a challenge, but these blue-eyed  little ones and their awesome parents made this an absolute breeze.

You should have seen the excitement when these kids saw that there were acorns on the ground.  Turned into a great little 10-minute activity during outfit changes!

Then it was off to the beach!  There were no rules. Sand in mouth. Stones being thrown. Outfits getting wet.   Love when parents give their kids that kind of freedom 😉

Mom and I talked for a good half hour after our shoot was over … just about motherhood, balancing working and being a parent, etc. … and Dad kept the kids occupied like a champ and took them on a mini adventure 🙂

You are SUCH a gorgeous person and a great Mom – I hope you know that.
