I’m pretty sure you couldn’t have drawn up a more perfect conclusion to my 4-day photography stint back home in PA… than getting the opportunity to photograph this baby girl who belongs to my dear, amazing, love-her-to-death friend of 30 years.
It seemed like yesterday that I was there to do a newborn shoot for this family… because… well, I basically was! This little angel is the third baby girl in three years for this crew – and along with their 12-year-old big sister, well … you could say that Dad is outnumbered. 🙂
There was a whole lot of cuteness in this session… and I knew that would happen, but I wasn’t prepared for the amount of hilarity that would happen thanks to two characters in this family! (you’ll see!)
But first, allow me to introduce you to this sweet baby girl….who makes being beautiful look easy!
A tribute to a family friend’s band! Love it!
Whenever there are older siblings involved in newborn shoots, you never know what you’re going to get. The great thing? I got gorgeousness…
The other great thing? I got hilarity. It’s pretty rare that I include this many outtakes in a family’s gallery – but this wouldn’t be a true blog if we didn’t include what I assume is a REAL day-to-day story in this family’s life!
Yep – you got busted little girl (in an accidental snap of the camera) You will be seeing this in your high school yearbook someday… and you can officially blame me…
And who gets to try to corral all of this controlled chaos? THIS GUY!
Some back story for you: these two have waited until delivery day to find out the gender for all of their babies. And all of us were waiting in anticipation to find out if this one was a boy or a girl. And, in what was probably the most hilarious text announcement of a baby’s birth of all time… we did not get a picture of the baby… we did not get height/weight/birth time… we did not get a name (for 2 days, in fact)…. instead… we got a picture of this guy by himself with the caption “The cheese stands alone.” AMAZING!
This guy was born to raise daughters 🙂 Love watching how he brings a lot of love and a lot of humor to raising them 🙂
And then there is Mom… my sweet, sweet best friend of 30 years. My heart is so full of gratitude to be able to say that I have been blessed to be on the receiving end of this girl’s friendship for so long. You go from sharing macaroni and cheese at the kids table as 5-year-olds, to sharing the public school vs Catholic school gossip as teenagers, to now sharing tips about what to feed our babies as Moms. Lord knows that we have gone in a lot of different directions throughout those 30 years… but what I adore about this friendship is that I know that NOTHING ever changes. In fact, it only gets better with time. And I love her for that.
What else I love? THIS PICTURE! I have not been able to stop looking at it since it hit my screen. This girl has not a HINT of makeup on, you guys – such a complete natural beauty and I am so glad I was able to capture that to give her the proof! (Insert reminder: this girl has had three babies in three years.)
I honestly wish you all could see her in action with these girls… it’s inspirational to watch how easy it seems to come to her, how much these girls absolutely adore and respect her, and how perfectly she fits the role of being a Mom.
What else is there to say? What an AMAZING session, you guys. Thank you for letting me take over your living room yet again and do another shoot for you. I don’t know how you pull it all off – but you make it look easy. Love you guys more than you know! Until next time … (not a newborn shoot, though, right? 🙂 )
